Zervas Elementary School
The Town of Newton Massachusetts recently completed (2017) a three story 67,000 square foot academic building to replace the single story 1950’s era classroom building as the preferred design option under the MSBA funding guidelines.

The structure is a steel frame with concrete floor slabs and foundations with a construction budget of $23 million. The challenging urban site required the foundations to bear on a rammed aggregate pier system and floor to floor heights to be minimized to allow the three story school to blend in without overpowering the residential neighborhood of Newton.
Frank H. Netter MD School Quinnipiac University
Challenge with a capital Q. Transform a 1970's office park into a state of the art medical facility for Quinnipiac University. The second phase of the North Haven campus master plan created space in the existing 200,000 square foot three story office building for classrooms, lecture halls, gross anatomy lab and support spaces.
An addition was also fit over and between the previously renovated and in use School of Health Science. Building Information Modeling was used to coordinate the new structure with existing building components and new Architecture and MEP systems to create spaces for a medical library, lecture hall and student lounge spaces.
